Spring is… Springing!

I’m so glad that winter is finally over and spring is finally here. I have so many perennials that I actually forgot about, and it’s been fun to see little things sprouting up here and there and thinking… “Ooooh… that’s right… I planted a ____ here!” Semi-unfortunate, however, is the fact that now I’m somewhat afraid to step anywhere around my pond or under the shade garden because I really cannot remember where I planted everything, and this fall I planted quite a few bulbs–can’t remember where– and I don’t want to step on anything!

Last summer I went on a bulb-buying frenzy and I purchased a bunch of daffodils and tulips from Breck’s catalog. Many of the daffodils are out now, and some of the tulips are out… all the others are trailing close behind. These are some of the coolest flowers I have ever seen!

A bunch of them are very ruffly. They look like a normal daffodil from the back, and then when you see the centers they are so unique. The color varieties are really neat as well.

There are tons of other things in bloom right now— in the slideshow!
